Automotive production is major U.S. employment and innovation source. American automotive industry trades substantial volumes of parts across borders to bring supply chains closer to North America. Tariffs on Mexican articles require adjustment to minimize disruption to U.S. automotive industry and workers.
Articles entered duty-free under NAFTA terms shall not be subject to the additional 25 percent duty on Mexican imports. Additional rate of duty on potash not covered by NAFTA is reduced to 10 percent. Modifications effective March 7, 2025.
