United States v. State of California
No. 2:25-cv-10999 District · Active
Case Overview
The United States challenges California's 2025 "No Secret Police Act" and "No Vigilantes Act," which restrict federal immigration officers' use of face coverings and require visible identification. On April 22, 2026 the Ninth Circuit granted an injunction pending appeal enjoining California from enforcing Section 10 of the No Vigilantes Act (Penal Code 13654) on Supremacy Clause grounds.
